On September 26, 2023, in Ho Chi Minh City, the Vietnam-Malaysia DEX Connex 2023 Cooperation Conference took place at SIHUB.

We’re also immensely grateful to our partners, The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Saigon Innovation Hub with the Malaysian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and MATRADE Ho Chi Minh City whose support and collaboration made this successful event possible.
The event welcomed distinguished guests, including the Malaysian Consul General in HCMC, representatives from the Department of Science and Technology, People’s Committee of HCMC, and nearly 100 representatives from businesses of both countries. It opened up diverse opportunities for networking and cooperation in over 10 different vital sectors of the two economies, such as Edtech, Fintech, Artificial Intelligence (AI), E-commerce, Logistics & Supply Chain, Retail, Technology Solutions & Services, etc.
In the third knowledge sharing session “Vietnam Market Overview: Grasping Its Attractiveness and Potential,” presented by Mr. Huynh Cong Thang, Co-founder and CEO of InnoLab Asia, and Mr. Anirban Roy, Senior HR at InnoLab Asia, valuable insights along with significant data is shared.
Referring to the National Master Plan for the 2021-2023 period, with a vision towards 2050, Vietnam’s economy focuses on three pillars: the Digital Economy, the Green Economy, and the High-Tech Economy. Mr. Huynh Cong Thang, with extensive experience in strategic cooperation consultancy between Vietnamese and international enterprises, emphasized the diverse investment opportunities in Vietnam, especially in the technology sector, for Malaysian businesses.
To reinforce the prospects for investment in Vietnam, Mr. Anirban Roy shared that Vietnam is considered one of the fastest-growing economies in the Southeast Asian region. Particularly, in 2024 and 2025, Vietnam is expected to maintain strong growth momentum and achieve the highest projected growth. This presents an opportunity for Malaysian and international businesses planning to expand their presence in the Vietnamese market to leverage this opportunity, establish solid connections, and be prepared to integrate as the market develops.
A prominent feature of the conference was the Business Networking Session, facilitating direct one-on-one exchanges between Vietnamese and Malaysian businesses to explore mutual business cooperation opportunities. This activity lasted for over two hours and was highly engaging, with the participation of 20 Malaysian businesses and companies from Vietnam, including ThinkZone Venture, InnoLab Asia, NFQ Vietnam, Deepview, Edu2Review, Quickcom, BAP IT Co., JSC, What3words, and Thanh Nam Law Firm.
Furthermore, during the conference, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Exchange activity took place in the presence of the Malaysian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City and the Deputy Head of the Technology Management and Technology Market Division at the Department of Science and Technology in HCMC. This activity officially marked a strategic partnership between two Vietnamese companies, AHT Tech and 24Group Investment, and a Malaysian company, SERVEDECK (Smart Facility Operations & Management Platform).
Finally, at 7 pm on the same day, we hosted a Dinner Networking event with approximately 50 attendees. Amidst the cozy ambiance of Baba’s Kitchen, many interesting conversations took place, and friendly connections were established. We are immensely excited about the potential for future collaborations together.
The results of the DEX Connex event extended beyond connecting businesses. Through knowledge sharing and cooperation, we believe that this event will bring about profound innovations, enhance the quality of services and products in both countries’ technology industries, and promote sustainable development in the digital age.
