InnoLab Asia and Spacecubed Signed MoU to Boost Western Australia’s Growth

In a move to boost the startup ecosystem in Western Australia, InnoLab Asia, Vietnam’s leading startup incubator, and Spacecubed, Western Australia’s largest co-working and innovation precinct, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on August 19, 2024, in Perth. The signing ceremony was attended by high-level representatives from both sides, along with key partners.

The signing ceremony was graced by the presence of distinguished representatives from both organizations:

  • Representing InnoLab Asia was the Co-founder and CEO –  Mr. Huynh Cong Thang.
  • Representing Spacecubed was A/CEO – Ms. Ophelie Cutier.

Key partners from various departments of the Western Australian government and the City of Perth also witnessed the event, including:

  • Mr. Stephen Dawson, Minister for Emergency Services, Innovation & the Digital Economy, Science, and  Medical Research of the Western Australian Government
  • Ms. Ivana Deng, Senior Policy Advisor of Innovation and Digital Economy at Department of the Premier and Cabinet of Western Australia
  • Ms. Vu Thi Ngoc Thao, Consul of Consulate-General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Western Australia

Strategic Partnership Opens Up New Opportunities

Through this MoU, Spacecubed will gain access to a pipeline of high-potential Vietnamese startups from InnoLab Asia’s portfolio that are ready to expand into the Western Australian market via the Perth Landing Pad program. With a vast network and a track record of supporting over 500 startups across Asia, InnoLab Asia will bring a valuable pool of innovative businesses to Western Australia.

Mr. Huynh Cong Thang, Co-founder and CEO of InnoLab Asia, shared, “We believe this partnership will create immense value for both sides. Vietnam has a dynamic and innovative startup community, while Western Australia boasts a strong innovation ecosystem. This combination will create new breakthroughs, driving economic and social development in both countries.”

This MoU aligns with the Western Australian Government’s DiversifyWA strategy and will further support investment and the development of the innovation ecosystem in Western Australia.

Ms. Ophelie Cutier, A/CEO of Spacecubed, also expressed optimism about the future of this partnership. She said, “We are excited to welcome Vietnamese startups to Perth. With the support of Spacecubed, these startups will have the opportunity to grow and scale their businesses. At the same time, the presence of Vietnamese startups will enrich Western Australia’s innovation ecosystem.”

Perth Landing Pad is co-funded by the state government through the New Industries Fund (NIF), a $25.8 million fund administered by the Department of Jobs, Tourism, Science and Innovation and the City of Perth.
